Three Things You Should Do Before Having Your Bedroom Professionally Painted

Getting your bedroom professionally painted is really exciting, as it ensures that the finished room will look amazing, creating the relaxing sanctuary of your dreams. However, it's important to prepare the room properly for your painters, allowing them to work easily and efficiently.
Make Sure You and Your Painters Are on the Same Page
You spend a lot of time in your bedroom, so it's important that the finished product is exactly what you want. Take five minutes to talk to your painters before they arrive, making sure that they know exactly what colour and type of paint you want, and also that you've bought enough if you're responsible for getting the paint. Remove as Many Small Items as Possible
Bedrooms often contain a lot of precious items and soft furnishings, all of which you'll want to keep free of paint. Start by removing your bed sheets, pillows, throws, rugs and any other soft items. Box them up to keep them all together, so they'll be easy to put back. Clear items from your dresser and bedside table, especially important items such as jewellery. If you have an expensive or light-coloured lampshade, you may want to take it down, as well as remove the curtains for the duration of the painting. Take pictures off the walls, and make sure the room is as empty as possible.
Move Your Furniture to Make Space
Your painters may have already told you which pieces of furniture need to be moved, or you may be limited by a lack of space to move it to. However, you should move any smaller pieces of furniture out of the room — for example, your dresser chair, mirror and bedside table, as well as small chests of drawers. For larger pieces, either enlist help in moving them to another room or simply move them into the middle of the room. This will give your painters room to move around the walls. Your painters might provide sheets to protect them, but if not, try to drape your furniture in old sheets or tarpaulins to protect it from stray flecks of paint.
By communicating effectively with your painters and removing as many items as possible before their arrival, you can ensure that your painters can work as efficiently as possible at creating your dream bedroom.
